Flathead Grey Mullet (Mugil cephalus), commonly known as Grey Mullet or Bata in Bangladeshi, is a frequently consumed seafood.
This fish is one of the most commercially important species of countries. Our Grey Mullet are caught in southern Vietnam seas. Mostly during spring and summer, but it is active all year long.
Commercial harvesters use a cast, beach or haul seine net to catch mullet. Every year, we distribute a large quantity Frozen Grey Mullet fish throughout the world.
Grey Mullet have an elongated & rather stout body. The color is a dark bluish on the top and silver along the sides. The Grey Mullet is considered a vegetarian. The cooked meat is white and relatively dry. Its bones are easy to clean, while the meat separates from them easily.
Flathead Grey Mullet are good for the proper functioning of our bodies, as they are a source of fats, proteins, phosphorus, vitamin B1, vitamin PP, fluorine, omega-3 fatty acids.
It's been proven that regular consumption of Flathead Grey Mullet can lower the risk of heart problems. Eating this fish also has a positive effect on brain function. Further, consumption of Grey Mullet helps provide a good mood. According to studies, people who eat fish 2-3 times a week suffer from depressive states relatively less often.
Poaching, steaming, baking, broiling, sautéing, microwaving are excellent low-fat cooking methods, if you do not add high fat ingredients. Its soft meat can be added to all kinds of salads.
