Cherry Shrimps/Sakura Ebi is small shrimp which is found in all Vietnam seas. Cherry Shrimps/Sakura Ebi in the north and central seas are red and pink while in the south they are white. Cherry Shrimps/Sakura Ebi is valuable seafood and usually exported to Japan and Korea in frozen.
Cherry Shrimps/Sakura Ebi is rich in protein and contains rich amounts of minerals, including calcium and magnesium and has preventive effects against cancer and somatic mutation. Moreover, Cherry Shrimps themselves are said to promote improved eyesight, recovery from fatigue, lower cholesterol and prevention of cerebral thrombosis, atherosclerosis and osteoporosis.
Cherry Shrimps/Sakura Ebi is loved for their unique taste and sweet smell. Sakura ebi can be used in various dishes and can also make excellent sauce for plenty of special dishes. The dried Cherry Shrimps/Sakura Ebi is crisp enough on their own and even better when Sakura ebi are dunked into tempura batter and deep-fried into a kakiage fritter. This dish can be enjoyed with cold beer or tossed with pasta.
In recent years, Vietnamese Cherry Shrimps/Sakura Ebi starts to appear in the EU market as demand starts increasing.
